The mud kitchen
Hand-built from pallet wood with a real stove top, hooks of pans and a tap. Busiest spot on the Quinta.
The Quinta
Six acres in the hills near São Brás de Alportel, built up by hand into a place for children to be outside.

We're Josh and Sophie. We moved our family to this corner of the Algarve for the space, the light and the kind of childhood it offers. Our kids spend their days in the mud kitchen, on the trampoline and following the digger round the land.
Quinta da Pedra grew out of that. We wanted other families to have the same: real outdoor play, handmade things and a slower kind of day. Sophie runs Ellumi, so the craft and party side is taken care of properly. Josh keeps building.
It's still our home, so you'll be welcomed as guests rather than customers. And it gets a little better every season.

Around the land
Hand-built from pallet wood with a real stove top, hooks of pans and a tap. Busiest spot on the Quinta.
A round pool ringed by cypress trees. Open in the warm months, during set windows.
A wooden fort on the rise with a ramp, a ladder and a view of the hills.
Shade over the party area, with the bamboo-roofed pergola, picnic benches and seating for adults.
Plants, herbs and rocks to touch and smell, and a red-earth trail out into the land for treasure hunts.
A big netted trampoline tucked under the pines, ringed by rocks and red earth.

Our dogs and cats live here too. The dogs are friendly but stay out of the way during sessions unless your children want to say hello. Goats and chickens are on the way.
